Jamie Oliver comes to Victoria
13 March 2013
Exciting news! The latest additions to the ranks of new Victorians are Jamie Oliver, who will be opening a restaurant beneath the new residences at Kings Gate on Victoria Street, and The Royal Quarter Café, coming soon to Wellington House. Not only is Jamie Oliver one of Britain's best-loved chefs, he's also one of our most successful exports, and we are delighted to welcome him to the area. The Royal Quarter Café in Victoria will be the fourth in London, joining the successful openings in Chelsea, Battersea, Plantation Wharf and in Heal’s department store on Tottenham Court Road.
These exciting new recruits to Victoria’s dining scene will join a host of independent restaurants popping up in the area. With the launch of the new Intercontinental Westminster came the Blue Boar Smokehouse, a restaurant celebrating the best of American pit-cooking using quality British ingredients. This adds to the recently opened Scoff's on Victoria Street, a new venture from Chris Hutcheson (Gordon Ramsay’s father-in-law) specialising in fast, fresh and healthy food – already a favourite lunchtime haunt for the locals. Transforming Victoria into a dining destination is an integral part of Land Securities’ long-term vision so these new lettings are evidence of the vision becoming a reality.
